In these hard economic times, the decision to buy a new car becomes serious business.
We’ve all heard stories of money lenders not lending, of banks closing. We’ve all known people who have lost their jobs or had their paychecks otherwise cut. Maybe you’re one of them.
But if you are in need of a new car, then don’t shy away from making a purchase. Have fun picking out what you want and just enjoy the entire process, including showing off your new ride to the Joneses.
Here’s what we think about it. We’ve learned a lot about the economy in the past year. We’ve seen what happened to the people who financed homes that they really couldn’t afford. Everyone always talks about how it is more expensive to get car repairs done at a dealer than at an independent repair shop – but do we know that for sure, or is it simply a gut feeling?
Cartalk.com recently did a study on this topic and now we have some cold, hard facts. The results showed that on average the dealerships in the study charged 15% more than independent car repair shops for the same repairs.
