Affordable extended vehicle warranties are now available for California car owners through Warranty Direct.
The policy is called Mechanical Breakdown Insurance and it provides repair or replacement services for the operational failure of a motor vehicle due to a defect in materials or normal wear and tear.
In order to get the best mechanical breakdown insurance quote possible it’s helpful to have a clean driving record. It is also beneficial to provide proof of attendance to a defensive driving course.
Additionally, make sure your car is well equipped with a security system, air bags, anti-lock brakes, etc.

Lemon Law:
The general definition of a Lemon Law vehicle: A vehicle with (a) major, repeated problem(s) that has been repurchased by, or had its purchase price renegotiated with, the manufacturer. The state then earmarks these as Lemon Law or Buyback vehicles. These vehicles are ineligible for coverage.
Maintenance Guidelines:
This is the normal, routine maintenance that is recommended by the manufacturer of your vehicle to keep the vehicle in optimum condition. These include such things as oil changes, tune-ups, checking fluid levels, tire rotations, wheel alignments, belts, hoses and others as described in your owner’s manual.
Manufacturer’s Warranty:
This is the standard warranty that every new vehicle sold comes with. All factory-installed parts are covered against defects. There are as many variations in warranty contracts as there are car models to choose from. Here are some of the important areas one needs to look at before choosing a warranty vendor.
Administrator
The Administrator is the company who is responsible for paying claims. This company is often not the company selling you the warranty. It is important to check into the Administrator’s background and financial history. Check their Better Business Bureau record and run searches on Yahoo.com to see what consumers are saying about them. Ask them how long they have been in business. Find out if they sell coverage only on the Internet or also provide coverages to car dealers, banks, credit unions and manufacturers.
